Frank Barcellos was a long time dairy farmer, served 10 years on the Board of Health, Town Meeting member for 25 years.  He was employed by the Park Department and served as a call firefighter.  The plaque was donated by a Fairhaven resident that prefers to remain anonymous and was was stolen  from its resting place in 1998 .

1927

In September, 1927, the Massachusetts Society, Sons of the American Revolution held a field day at the Fort and placed a bronze tablet on one of the ledges to commemorate the first naval engagement of the Revolutionary War.  The memorial commemorates the first Naval battle of the revolutionary war, fought on May 14, 1775 about 5 miles South of the Town of Fairhaven.
