Get cozy with our first Hygge Winter Reading Program!
Hygge (pronounced HOO-gah) is a Danish concept centered on cozy comfort and simple pleasures—warm light, good company, and slowing down to enjoy the moment. While the word is Danish, the feeling is shared across Nordic cultures, with similar ideas like kos (Norwegian), mys (Swedish), and kotoisa (Finnish), all celebrating warmth, connection, and everyday contentment.
This reading challenge works just like our Summer Reading - sign up to get a packet full of challenges and complete them for chances to win prizes.
For each activity completed, fill in your name and information on the back of the card and return it to our prize raffle (located in circulation desk and in the children's room).
This is an all ages program! Sign up for the Adult Challenge or the Kids challenge (recommended for under 12). Many challenges are in both packets - great for families to play together!
Note that the "Read a Book" challenge can be done again and again - ask a librarian for more tickets if you run out.
